Model: RE315
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.30 Build 230919 Rel.52342n

I have tried everything I can think of to determine why the RE315 extender is slowing speeds from my router at are averaging between 250mbps and 300mbps down to 20-40mbps. Just for testing purposes, I will hook the extender right next to my router, connect via wifi signal.

I've tried the following to troubleshoot...

-Moved extender right next to my WiFi router

-Tested speeds on 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels

-Tested on multiple different devices.

-Updated firmware

-Rebooted extender

None of these steps resulted in achieving anywhere near the speed of my WiFi router in the 250-300mbps range. The fastest speed I got to was on the 5Ghz channel and was 93mbps. Not consistent though.

Is this hardware version 1.0 defective?

  @SouthernYankee

Hi, Is RE315 working in Wireless range extender mode? there is no Ethernet cable connection from the host router, right?

Have you checked the link speed on the mobile device when it is connected via 5 GHz to RE315?

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi David, Is RE315 working in Wireless range extender mode? there is no Ethernet cable connection from the host router, right? -->Yes, I believe RE315 is working in wireless range mode. I do not have it connected to the Verizon 5G router via ethernet cable. The RE315 extender is plugged in right next to it though, within a few feet just to make sure the distance/range isn't an issue for testing purposes. Have you checked the link speed on the mobile device when it is connected via 5 GHz to RE315? --->Yes, I am only considering the speeds I get when mobile devices are connected via 5 GHz channel as the benchmark.
