Hi, any valid reason 3g/4g cellular can’t simply be used via shared Ethernet without modem dialup?

Who uses modem dialup today....would be much more beneficial to plug in phone via USB shared internet and just select the phone add pw if required auto detect settings and away you go, creating single private WiFi network and shared LAN via Ethernet if requ. Great addition to hotspot sharing may save ur battery life too. Not an expert but seems logical .

Hi, if you would not like to use USB modem, you could consider our other 3G/4G product which could work with SIM card directly, such as desktop router Archer MR600 or mobile WiFi M7350, M7450 etc.

One of the main reasons it's difficult to implement this are the drivers needed to recognize a 3G/4G mobile (via USB).

The drivers for 3G/4G USB modems are implemented in their firmware, but these routers have limited HW resources.

If you've noticed, they have a limited 3G/4G USB modem support - for example TL-WR902AC compatibility list.
