QA:
1. When will RE800BE be ready for purchase?
We currently don't have a specific release date for the RE800BE, but it could be expected in early 2024.
Usually, when it's ready for sale, online retailers such as Amazon will likely announce a pre-order date.
2. Does EasyMesh on the RE800BE support 6Ghz?
Yes. But please make sure the host router also supports EasyMesh on 6GHz. Currently, the following Archer BE products support EasyMesh on 6GHz.
Archer BE550_V1_1.0.5 |
Archer BE9300_V1_1.0.5 |
Archer GE800_V1_1.0.3 |
3. Does EasyMesh on the RE800BE support Ethernet Backhaul?
Not yet and It will be added via the firmware upgrade soon.
4. Does RE800BE support customizing its wireless SSID and password on 2.4/5/6GHz?
Yes, and it needs to be under standard wireless range extender mode. It will follow the wireless SSID and password under EasyMesh Mode.

@David-TP are there any updates regarding the release of the RE800BE range extender, just curious as i thought the release was early 2024 and it seems impossible to find any info or preorders entering the 4th quarter of 2024

@Hunter10101 I'm seriously in doubt that it'll even make it to market, they won't even respond to this page anymore.

The RE800BE is market-ready, but the sales date for distribution channels remains unclear. It will be first launched in the European regions.
Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP judging by the poor quality webpage for the extender and the fact that 2024 is nearing the end, will this even be coming to market, and if so, when?

It has been available in Europe for a few weeks on Amazon sites.

@David-TP I just purchased the RE800BE and successfully connected it with my GE800 using EasyMesh. I noticed the following two things:
- My configured MLO network isn't supported by EasyMesh (you have to configure two independent MLO SSIDs, one on each device so roaming won't be seamless)
- Ethernet backhaul isn't available even thought one year ago you posted that it will "soon" become available through a firmware upgrade
When can we expect these basic features to be added to the RE800GE?

@David-TP it's been more than a year now, any chance it'll even be released, let alone any time soon?

@PapaPruett It's kind of sad that ASUS used to give TP-Link a run for it's money with product diversity, and still appears to do so on the router/mesh side of the product line. But ASUS doesn't have nearly as many range extenders available and I guess this makes TP-Link less motivated to diversify the product lineup...
