Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.2 Build 20230906 Rel. 78043

I've been having problems with my Deco M9 plus system for several months now.

The network performance is poor, but when I perform "Network optimization", the scan fails with the message: "Detection failed. Please try again" and "Some frequency bands in the current network have a high degree of channel interference. It is recommended that you update them now.".

I retry this every now and again, but the error consistently appears.

What frustrates me is that this is that firstly, it is a system crippling issue which has been present for at least four months (see firmware version) and secondly, there is no possible way to change the channels manually, which I would expect to be basic functionality.

How can I resolve this issue?

  @h-van-der-bijl

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

A new Deco IOS APP, 3.6.50 was released a few days ago. Please try to update to the latest APP first.

After that, it is also suggested to restart the whole Mesh system once.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

I have this issue also, with the iOS app being the latest version and Deco firmware updated as well.

It says I have a high degree of channel interference but won't allow me to change it, since the detection constantly fails.

How is one supposed to continue from here?

I kept trying several times over a few days. And despite it kept saying the same thing, suddenly it said that all was fine - the existing channels were good. I kept checking and it continued to say it was good.

I wish they would take it just a bit more serious so I could have confidence in choosing their product in the future and recommending it. But I think there are just a few too many downsides for the Deco product...

Even after the latest updates and several reboots/power cycles, no change.

TP-Link clearly has no intention of fixing this. This will be my last TP-link purchase.
