Mine has the same firmware but there is a later release in the Downloads section. TL-PA511KIT_V1_120625 which is a lter release and is supposed to fix some known issues. However, I have downloaded this and tried to upgrade my TL-511's but it still shows the firmware version 500A-5-2-52333-02-968-20120209-FINAL-B as you have.
I did post regarding what appears to be a failure to upgrade but I received no response. Either the download firmware is incorrect and the older version or the upgrade procedure does not work correctly.
Can anyone clarify what is going on here and how we upgrade to 120625 release.
Thanks

This problem makes me confused for a long time. I have asked Support of TP-LINK, and their answer is that the firmware is upgraded successfully, it's just a flaw in display. They said they will fix it later.

I'm having the same problem. So I guess TP-Link hasn't fixed the issue yet.

I have the USA version 1.2.
I've also tried several times to upgrade the firmware to the 6/25/12 one.
I've used several versions of the PowerLine utility, including v1.0 (the one included on the mini-CD) as well as the latest v2.0.1431 linked in the post earlier (for 411).
Still displaying the same old 20120209-FINAL-B!

the PLC firmware include NVM and PIB , they are different files, the utility just show the NVM version , but sometimes , different version firmware use same NVM file but different PIB file, so you will see the version always same, but indeed the new firmware has been loaded into your device by the firmware upgrading operation.
so here just a display problem. i have reported it to TP-LINK , i think TP-LINK will fix it soon.

Disappointing first impression

I bought my first 2 x AV500 adapters for trial two days ago to see if my computer company should sell these.
I noticed this same issue about firmware versioning after trying to resolve a periodic disconnect issue - the AV500 drops connection about twice a day and can be resolved by unplugging and replugging OR by waiting 5 minutes. No ping through device, but lights are all still active and the Powerline Utility still shows there is a remote device..
The obvious problem here is that this firmware was released 5 months ago and this issue is still unresolved. Even count the days since Detective Dee's post where he/she has reported this 4 months ago. I'm not sure I want to invest my time into another company who provides this type of non-service. It's a simple matter of recompiling the firmware with the correct numbers and making your customers happy!
Oh then we can look at my disconnect issue as well, although I may return these devices by the time anyone reads this.

Guess TP-LINK has been trying to solve this problem, but it just takes some time to finish it as TP-LINK has many products to maintain.
