Model: TL-PA4010
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I bought a kit a long while ago, but it never worked as we had dreadful incoming internet.  We have since moved to satelitte and i hardwired Access points to get the signal everywhere i needed.

In the mean time, i managed to lose half the TP-link kit and i can only find the TL-PA4010, which i undertand is 'wired' into the router?

I do not need this at my home, but i am wondering if it will work to extend the wifi at a family members home.

If i connect the TL-PA4010 to the router with a long cable (we have a cat 5 available), so it is in another room (the room we are trying to get signal) will the TL-PA4010 emit a wifi signal on its own,  or is it essentially useless without the WPA4220's?

Thank you

Hi,

The Wi-Fi is only built into the TL-WPA4220. Therefore, a single TL-PA4010 is essentially useless.
