RE650 AP - Ethernet speed with CAT6 cable not fast
Hi,
I had a cheap AP located in the house about 50meters away, running on old CAT5 Ethernet cable down to my flat, into netgear switch GS105v5 Pro Safe and a GS108v4 Pro Safe. I could see everything else in the flat was running a 1Gps
So when i purchased the RE650 to setup up as Access Point for wireless CCTV cameras, I replaced ther old cat 5 cable as it it only had a max speed of 100Mps with new CAT6 cable tp ther house. As i thought the overall performance of the AP when accessing my cameras remotely would incrrese 10fold.
For the life of me the RE650 on same CAT6 cable as everything else here plugged into same switch is showing 1 blinking green led meaning 100Mps, and i cant for the life of me understand why if the RE650 has a Gigabyte Ethernet RJ45 connection, like all my other gear WILL NOT run as 1Gps only at 100Mps
As i understand when i access the CCTV cameras using mobile data from 10 miles away, the cat 6 cable speed is the max speed at which my cameras can connect to the net? (correct me if im wrong), so i assumed id have 1Gps not 100Mps on the Ethernet cable,
The whole purpose of the exercise and money spent was to make the response time of the multiple cameras Pan Tilt Zoom functions 10 times faster when remotely operating and using the 2 way voice/talk particularly, as on Cat 5, yther 2 way talk was broken up and laggy and not really useful to tell the delivery guy, you cant sign for the parcel, as im not home for example. Or tell ther paramedics to jump the gates, im dying here.
So i have i upgraded everything for nothing?>
Thoughts>?
