Model: TL-WPA7517 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: TL-WPA7517(EU)_V1_1.0.10 Build 220701

Hi,
I have a TL-WPA7517 V1 Kit connected via onemesh to an Archer C80

Recently, as the Router received an update allowing WPA3-Personal + WPA2-PSK[AES] Wifi Security; which I've enabled.

However it seems from that date, the WIFI coverage has been reduced as I don't think that the TL-WPA7517 supports WPA3 encryption and that might be the cause.

Is there a way to solve this problem without resorting to "downgrade" the wifi encryption in the C80?

Archer C80 FW version: 1.13.2 Build 230824 Rel.74702n(4555)
Hardware Version: Archer C80 1.0

Thanks in advance

J.

  @JonEx

You could try changing the wireless secutity just for a test to see if it is really affected by that, if not, maybe it works on different wireless channel from that before, thus you could try changing the wireless channel to see if it helps.

  @Sunshine I see what you mean.

They are paired via OneMesh. I could change the Auth method to check but I'm surprised there is no error message before that if the Paired device doesn't support that authentitation method. That would mean there is a really poor design; or they need to update the FW from the TL-WPA7517 to include that authentication method. There isn't even a beta FW at least to resolve that problem.

If I change the Auth method that means I'll have to log in again in the 20 devices I have at home. What I want is a viable response from someone working in TPLink stating this either works or not. I changed to a more secure authentication method as it's suggested to do so nowadays being there multiple ways to crack WPA2/etc

To take the point across: I could take the authentication off as well; but that won't cut it for me.

Thanks anyway for your kind response :)
