Good morning, I'm a volunteer for a Rural Fire Brigade and we are upgrading our current NBN connection to fttp next week.  We will be connected to a good quality high speed ISP.  We are located on an island.

As you would imagine the Brigade station is a metal building containing lots of large metal objects. The NBN connection comes into the front office and we have a wired ethernet connection to an external building - our training room - slightly less than 100metres away.

Looking for some advice please on a good router for the main office and "wifi server unit" for the training room?  The training room is used for a command centre - Police, SES and Fire Brigade in the event of an serious event.

Currently the router in the front office is a Telstra provided standard and the unit in the training room is a TPLink_Pocket 3020.

I want to upgrade both units to be able to get the quality and speed that the new infrastructure from a quality ISP will allow.   Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the community.

Are there any specific requirements for the new network systems? For example, could you please provide information on the internet bandwidth available with the new NBN FTTP service? Additionally, it would be helpful to know the number of mobile clients that will be connected to the router, as well as whether any Ethernet connections are required for wired devices.  Could you also provide an estimate of the wireless coverage range?

Generally speaking, 1*standard router and 1*access point seem suitable, for example, an Archer WiFi 6 router+ an Outdoor access point:

Wait for your reply and best regards.
