AX10 not delivering subscribed speed
Hello Team,
I have archer ax10 and it is not providing the subscribed speed even if I am 2 meter away from the router over wifi 6.
When I bring my device near to the router (within 2 feet) it is providing full 400mbps but if i go little far then speed drop drastically.

We would need a bit more info from you before we could help you increase this, however WiFi speeds are never what is advertised in real terms
The speed of the AX10 is rated at 1500mbps, this is the combined speed of 2.4 ghz (300mbps) and 5ghz (1200mbps) giving a total of 1500. However this is the theoretical maximum, in real worlds thats a LOT less, think of it like the car manufacturer claims the MPG is vs real world driving.
Huawei engineer once told me to expect 40-60% of the claimed WiFi speed in the real world, if you are in that margin its working as intended. I can say after 15 years that has held true. Ok so lets break it down a bit more.
Assuming your connecting device (laptop, phone, whatever) has a 2x2 AX grade card, its going to connect on the 5ghz at ~1200mbps so in reality you should be getting ~700mbps speeds. Just guessing here, but ~400mbps sounds like that device has a 1x1 card built in.
Just to clarify, the 1x1 and 2x2, 3x3 etc is the number of radio chips for each frequency. So a 1x1 has 1x radio chip for 2.4ghz and 1x for 5ghz, this is very common in mobile phones to have just a 1x1 card to save power. Also note that unless its really high end, most cards cant connect to both 2.4 and 5ghz at the same time, so you can never get the full 1500mbps
So basically.. we need to know what device you are connecting with and how you are testing this.

I have xiaomi 12 pro 5g smartphone and having 400mbps fiber broadband connection.
So here my concern is that, when I am within 1-2 feet away from the router. I am getting full 400mbps.
But if the distance between router and phone increase a bit then speed is getting drop down to 250-280mbps.
I have installed the router in 10x10 room and it is not delivering full speed even on the single room do you think this is what we should expect from the router.

Thanks, that give us a bit more to work with :)
The 12 Pro is a dual card so should support the full 1200mbps, which in reality is around 750/800... So you should be able to confortably handle 400 at full speed. First thing to do is ensure that you are on 5ghz, sounds like you are.. but double check. Android should also tell you what speed it reads you connected at, would expect this to be 1200
What channel are you currently running on? If its on auto, its likely in the 36-48 range and this can be congested enough if honest, try manually setting it for something 52 or higher and see if that helps
Channel width force it to 80mhz and enabled MU-MIMO
See if that helps. Honestly, testing this on a phone is not the recommended way to do this as battery devices will drop performance to save battery. I think you should still be getting faster than you are, but if you have a laptop (even AC WiFi model) use this as a 2nd test
