Sky Q hub and TP-Link Deco mesh wifi system
I have a Sky Q hub connected via an Ethernet switch to an Ethernet network and currently TP-Link WAPs also wired back to the switch to provide whole house wifi coverage. The Sky hub wifi is disabled. I would like to replace the WAPs with a TP-Link Deco mesh wifi system. Has someone done this?

Hey
Yes, literally done this today
Easiest way to do this is set your new Deco to Access Point mode (rather than router mode). Note Router mode is the default so you may need to setup your Deco using the wizard, name your WiFi, create password etc.. then switch them to Access Point mode.
In AP mode you will still have a Mesh system and the nodes can communicate either WiFi or Ethernet (LAN) depending on how you want it. Anything plugged into the deco nodes will use the Deco backhaul to get to the router.
This might help

@Philbert Thank you for your reply. This sounds good and like what I was anticipating, which is if they are in AP mode then they will look the same as the previous APs except they will operate on one SSID in a mesh. A question, will the Deco nodes use the wired Ethernet network to backhaul or will it use its WiFi network or is that configurable?

It will use the LAN wired connection as its first preference when available, however it can use the WiFi to nodes that are not on the LAN.
Its not something you set / configurable. It just uses the LAN if its there :)
