New Release Wi-Fi Routers Support DoH and DoT Network
Good news!
We are happy to announce that there is new official firmware rolling out for multiple routers, including the BE, AX, and AC series, which adds DoH and/or DoT. Welcome to upgrade and install this version of firmware to try it out.

1. The availability of DoH and/or DoT may vary by region even for the same model. Please check your local website for more information.
2. The above list might not include all models and hardware versions. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as all the newly supported features will be listed in the patch notes if/when it is added to your version.
3. DoH would not be available when the router works in Access Point mode. Visit this FAQ to know more about the difference between Access Point Mode and Router Mode.
Introduction and Configuration
DoH/DoT Introduction
DoH (DNS over HTTPS) and DoT (DNS over TLS) are two methods that enhance the security and privacy of DNS queries in network communications.
DoH encrypts DNS queries within HTTPS traffic, making them indistinguishable from regular web traffic and difficult to monitor.
DoT uses a dedicated TLS connection for DNS messages, ensuring they are secure from eavesdropping and tampering.
DoH/DoT Configuration
You can go to Advanced > Network > Internet page to enable DoH or DoT.

Note: There are 3 built-in DoH Servers: dns.quad9.net, dns.google, and cloudflare-dns.com, you can choose one at a time.

Hello Kevin, I own Archer AX53 (AX3000) V1.
Could you please release new firmware update that support DoH and DoT.
Those features are really important nowadays to enhance security and privacy.

@Purloin Yes. This is an official firmware and it's rolling out gradually to the Archer BE550s.
You can check for the updates regularly on the router web GUI or through the Tether App. Alternatively, you can install it directly via the provided download link.

@Kevin_Z hi it's so weird there are 9 wifi-5 on the list that now support doh/dot. But only 1 wifi-6 (AX55) that support doh/dot.
Less powerful wifi-5 get more support and update than wifi-6 hahhaa..
tell the development team at least popular model such as AX20 V1 and AX53 V1 must also get new firmware update that support doh/dot.

@Kevin_Z Any news regarding AX53 V1 and AX73 V2? When is DoH/DoT coming to these routers? It has been too long at this point.
It isn't a very pleasant experience from a consumer standpoint. I bought the AX73 & AX53 thinking it was a standard features.
