Hi I have the deco m4e .I have the main router connected by ethernet to my modem and two satellite units upstairs I can git a signal in the man cave which is good enough for general internet, However the Alexa is having issues and will drop out when streaming or is very slow to respond. My first guess is that the signal is not quite strong enough to be reliable..i am using the 2.4Mhz band and to the nearest router is prob about 15 mts max line of sight with only 1 wall for the signal to negotiate is there any way I can increase the signal strength / quality with a minimum of fuss..

Many thanks..

Ps not to much  technical  jargon, please

  @ukmartian

Hi, have you checked via your smartphone to see the current signal strength of 2.4ghz of the place where Alexa is installed to confirm the current issue might be due to the weak signal? (You could test via WiFi Analyzer or Ubiquiti Wi-Fiman APPs)

Or you could also move the Alexa next to a Deco M4 unit to see whether the streaming service will be improved.

If the steaming performance got greatly improved after moving closer to the M4,

  • If the whole house is under the same electric meter or power grid, a pair of TL-WPA4220 KIT will be recommended to extend the signal.

How does Powerline Work?

(The network layout will be like:

Internet---ISP modem---main Deco M4)))((( satellite M4#1)))(((satellite Deco M4#2--TL-PA4010~~~~~TL-WPA4220)

  • Or you could also consider adding one more Deco M4.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
