Deco x50 and Intel Wifi AX201
Deco x50 and Intel Wifi AX201
Hi all,
There is an issue with the Deco x50 and Intel Wifi AX201.
Here is a user for Intel forum, with exactly same issue:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Does-your-AX201-AX211-work-fine-with-mesh-network-Mine/m-p/1479252
And the solution was change the Router Mesh from Tp-Link to ASUS, since there is no solution from TP-LINK side.
The Intel Wifi card AX201, works perfect in any other Mesh Router.
I reported this issue March 2023:

@JPNARF I am having the EXACT same issue as the other poster. This system is brand new and this is rediculous.

Hi @BrianRiggan i have several sessions with TP-link support.
But they can't find the solution.
They asked me to try on a MAC computer, because they can capture packages and analize better. I'm a PC user, so not lucky. But if you use MAC, please send me your email and I can put into contact in the same email chain when I had the sessions with TP-Link support.
Maybe @David-TP can help here.

It would be great to get an update on this. My work laptop uses an AX201, i just spent £500 on Decos, big disaster that my work laptop is the only device that constantly crashes out of the WiFi network. Surely tp-link has suggestions/fixes?

Same issue ... AX201 doesn't seem to roam to closest Deco, it seems to have a preference for a 802.11ac (M5) unit that is much further away. It will not consistently connect to my new XE75 Pro which is in the same room.

@coolspot18 I never found a solution. I ended up using my old netgear as an access point that is hard wired to the deco and using that to connect to. Really absurd for a brand new mesh system.

@BrianRiggan I found a workaround... until TP-Link or Intel fixes the driver. NetSetMan is a free network management utility with one of its major features being the ability to connect to specific BSSIDs. It can continuously scan for BSSIDs and force a connection to a specific Deco. It seems to work well - it even has an option to connect to the strongest BSSID, which appears to be much more reliable than Intel's roaming feature, which seems broken with Deco.

@florisdev Looks like for your version 1.20 the lastest firmware is 1.1.0 Build 20230522 Rel. 68968
My version is 1
Is not regarding user account, is regarding Harware version.

Hi, I'm facing the same issue and my setup is Model: Deco X50(EU) Ver:1.20 Firmware: 1.1.0 Build 20230522 Rel. 68968 However, I haven't received the firmware version you mentioned yet. is it possible to manually get and install this version of firmware? can you share with us which hardware version you have it is labeled under the unit itself. Which country did you put when you created your Tplink account it might be possible that it affects how updates reach the unit since I didn't receive the same firmware version you mentioned. Best Regards.
