Hello!

My powerline adapter seems to be having some issues with the stability of the connection.

When regularly browsing the internet I didn't really notice anything weird going on, but when I set up my computer and tried to play a multiplayer game, I noticed that every so often I would have severe and complete packet loss for about a second or so.

Pinging 192.168.1.1. through CMD revealed the following:

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 2, Lost = 2 (50% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 3ms, Maximum = 4ms, Average = 3ms

Two timed out requests, which I have bolded.

Is my adapter faulty? Should I RMA it or is there a fix for this issue that I wasn't able to find on my own.

The powerline adapter is my only option for connecting this computer to the internet as WiFi is notoriously unstable and the router is downstairs in the living room, while my PC is on a higher floor.

Thank you!

Hello, the 192.168.1.1 is your router LAN IP address, right?

Connections between the router and your computer includes three parts: 1) Ethernet connection between Router and powerline adapter, 2) powerline connection between two powerline units, 3) powerline unit to your computer, so it is recommended to check one by one to tell which part the issue is.

Possible troubleshooting can be the following:

1) Connect a different computer to the powerline unit and test the ping again, or try to change another Ethernet able with good quality

2) Use the current computer but change the location of the powerline units, or move other electrical appliances away from them to reduce powerline interference

3) connect the computer to main router via the same router port to test if there is the same issue, if not possible, just try a different cable between the router and powerline adapter

I'm having the same issue but only since 3 months ago while I've had the adapter for 2 years. Should I just get a new one or is it pointless if its the power between my two powerline units (cause when it disconnects, the middle light turns off or sometimes it stays on but i have no connection on my pc). But i'm not sure how it would be the power if it only started 3 months ago and i didnt have issues for 2 years

Hi, please make sure the power saving mode is disabled on the powerline adapters.

And is there any new electrical appliances around the two powerline adapters? If so, please try moving them away, or try plugging the powerline adapters in different wall sockets, and test if the connection is stable when they are in the same room.
