Deco X50 5G - Red light issue
Hello, I am using Deco X50-5G as a main modem.
Every day, a few times, a solid red light appears on the modem and it needs to be reset (I re-plug the power cable). My ISP confirmed that there is no issue in the 5G signal.
Could there be something wrong with the Deco modem? It's very annoying..

Hi, Thank you for the message.
I noticed you mentioned Huawei 5G CPE Pro had the same issue and Archer MR600 didn't.
Since MR600 only supports 4G SIM service, would the disconnection be caused by the ISP 5G SIM service?
Or if we try to set Deco X50-5G to 4G mode only, would it still drop out a lot?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Dear David,
thanks for your reply.
I am abroad so I cannot change this feature remotely.
I will do it Saturday and keep you informed.
By the way, why we would have this kind of behavior on a router whereas on my phone it can disconnect and reconnect automatically ?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I couldn't provide an exact answer for that.
There might be a few reasons. One possibility is that the router may not be optimized for the specific network bands used by your mobile carrier, leading to weaker signal strength or unstable connection. Additionally, the router's internal hardware and antennas may not be as advanced as those in your phone, impacting its ability to receive and transmit data effectively. It's also worth considering the placement of the router and potential interference from other electronic devices, which can affect its performance.
Best regards.

On my X50 5G I kept getting disconnected. Normally after a power cycle it wouldn't connect at all. Setting it back up from scratch always worked.
The one thing that fixed it was setting the carrier to O2, my provider, instead of leaving it as automatic.
it also worked perfectly when set to 4G only.

Hello, I had this issue before and the problem was that the Deco requests the PIN code for the SIM card. If possible, try to connect your SIM card to your phone and disable/make sure the SIM PIN is disabled from setting -> cellular. Hope this helps!

@David-TP Hello,
So I switched to 4G mode.
It lasts around 10 hours before I get again the RED LIGHT of DEATH ...
What is the next step?
Thanks.
