Hello,

I would like to secure my network against a teenage son, particularly at night.  At present I have 2 WiFi networks, one for him (time/scheduled controlled) and another one for us.  He can bypass this by plugging directly into the router.  I can black-list his MAC address, but he can bypass this by finding another MAC address on the network (e.g. printer), turn the printer off, and then use the printer MAC address.

My intention is to buy the latest & greatest WiFi 6 or 7 DECO Mesh and disable the RJ45 Ethernet ports on it and have a completely wireless network, though I'm not sure this is possible.  Can you disable the RJ45 Ethernet ports?

If the "profiles" on the DECO use the same WiFi password and simply rely on MAC address for time/scheduled controlled I may need 2 DECOs (one for him & another for us).  So be it...

This solution still isn't ideal because there is a concrete floor that the WiFi will have to pass through.  I would like to use the Ethernet cable, but there doesn't seem to be any way to secure it.  WiFi needs a password to access it, but not wired Ethernet.  Could we run the WiFi protocol over wired connections?

Thanks in advance for any solutions...  YossarianMk2

PS  Building a locked box around the RJ45 wall socket and routers / APs would work, but it is an ugly solution...
