You're making a big leap of faith that everyone has a laptop, with Ethernet port, and required cable and knowledge to be able to perform an ISP speed test. Now, what used to be routine and easy, takes a significant amount of effort. 
 

Seems like the removal of this seemingly simple feature, and staple of most consumer wireless systems, puts Deco based systems at a severe competitive disadvantage. 
 

Listen to your customers and you'll go far. 

  @David-TP what consumer feedback was the confusion described based on? Being able to test, with a full compliment of features, whichever network the device (app) is connected to was fantastic and provided useful insight. Adding a description to that part of the test suite explaining what it actually tests would be a significantly better solution to reducing confusion than removing it. Informing customers increases the benefit to all, rather than removing it which takes away the benefit from everyone.

We understand these are experimental features, but what a disappointing decision. 

  @David-TP I have the X20 and the M9. Both are missing "Test internet speed". 

Xe75pro missing this feature where there is no other way to benchmark at 2.5gbps is unacceptable I just bought and shocked tplink does no offer a way to benchmark equipment performance. I guess return is our only choice to make them understand you are putting yourself out of the market 

  @David-TP thanks for answering. Just doesn't make much sense. When was the last time u came across a laptop with an Ethernet port?! Most laptops today don't have  one; u need to buy a dongle and most ppl forgo that. Check yours!

Why is this such a huge topic of contention?! OK, so ppl thought they were testing the ISP speed and, surprise folks, you were not. It was Wi-Fi speed to the device u were connected to. What help is that? What developer thought he could do a better job than SpeedTest by Ookla. Then, realized it wasn't such a good idea to reinvent the wheel. Then, he backed out and now everyone is disillusioned.

The real point here is that this is such a helpful feature and your users are asking for it? Why not just give it to them. Which ISP has paid u enough money to stop you from doing this so users can't test the speed of their connections in a heartbeat. Are u colluding with these companies? What's the reason for not adding a feature that other vendors provide? Don't u want ur products to stand out?

I think a little button that actually tests the ISP speed with a tap would be very helpful. Be our advocate and ask them to put one in there. And while they're at it they can add back that silly Wi-Fi speed one as well. Obviously it passed testing the first time around!

Oh and while ur at it why not add a Wi-Fi Analyzer as well. That wud be most helpful. And allow us to manually change channels. Sometimes, some of us just know what we want!
