RE300 password issue

Trying to set up an RE300 with a vr400 router.
Every method I try results in the extended networks having a non changeable password of ?undefined?.
No matter what I do I cannot get the RE300 to inherit the router password.
Both onemesh compatible allegedly.
If I actually use ?undefined? to connect to the extended network it works.

Update:
Issue Description:
Recently, Some customers reported after configuring the range extender with our DSL model, like RE300 with VR400 V3 here, the WiFi name of RE might become TP- Link_XXXX and the WiFi password becomes? undefined? as shown in the figure below.
Available Solutions
This problem only happens to the DSL routers which have pre-configured with Aginet Config and will be fixed in the future official firmware.
Before the release of the official firmware, please refer to the following suggestions:
- Please record the current WiFi name and WiFi password of the DSL modem.
- Then change the WiFi name and WiFi password on the DSL modem router to something else.
- After that, change the WiFi name and password back to the original.
- Then reconfigure the range extender again---TP-Link Range Extender Setup (Range Extender Mode)

I tried using WPS, Web and tether app.
None work.
Web I actually had the opportunity to input the host router password but it still did not update the extended network password.
