Issue Description/Phenomenon:

Some customers may find the Wi-Fi connection between their TP-Link router and the client devices such as computers, laptops, and smartphones is intermittent or is experiencing a dropping connection when they are adding a smart lighting or smart bulb on Smart Life or Tuya Smart App. This article will provide some suggestions that may help you out if you experience a similar issue.

 

 

Troubleshooting Suggestions & Solution:

After searching online, we learned that there are two methods to pair a smart lighting or smart bulb with the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App, Quick Mode Configuration (EZ Mode, which is also known as Wi-Fi Easy Connect) or AP Mode Configuration. In EZ Mode, which is also the default mode on the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App, the indicator of the smart bulb will flash or blink rapidly during the configuration, and the wireless connection of the TP-Link router may become intermittent or unstable during this process.  

 

It's suggested to configure the smart bulb in AP Mode instead.  You could reset the light bulb to enter the pairing mode and once the indicator is blinking, tap the “Confirm indicator slowly blink" button and then click 'Next” to continue and finish the configuration.

 

If you still don't know how to make the light bulb blink slowly, please check the inner-app instructions.

 

 

If there is still an issue with the wireless connectivity when trying to add a smart light bulb to your Smart Life or Tuya Smart App, it's suggested to comment below, or email support.forum@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum ID 600708] Wireless becomes unstable when adding smart devices on Smart Life or Tuya Smart App. In either case, be sure to provide the following information:

1. What is the model of the TP-Link router, and how about its hardware and firmware version?

2. What's the brand and OS version of the phone? Be sure the version of the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App on that phone is the latest.
