Official Release Deco ECO Mode 1.0
This Article Applied to:
You might see ECO or ECON modes a lot in some vehicles and it is a fuel-saving feature that instructs the engine computer to shift into a program that maximizes efficiency over performance. The ECO Mode on Deco also strives to save energy and maximize working efficiency.
Deco ECO mode includes three parts: Power Mode, Wi-Fi Schedule, and LED Control.
Note:
1. Please ensure your Deco app is up to date.
2. ECO Mode is disabled on the Deco by default, and can be enabled on the Deco APP> More>ECO mode.
3. If the current Deco Mesh includes a Deco model that does not support the ECO mode, this feature will disappear on the Deco app.
- Power Mode
There are three Power modes:
Normal Mode | works under the normal power state. Wi-Fi performance will not be affected |
Power-Saving Mode | lowers the power of your Deco to reduce power consumption. This will slightly reduce your network speed. |
Ultra Power-Saving Mode | reduces to its minimum power consumption. The network speed will reach the lowest allowed by the devices. |
Under Power-Saving Mode/Ultra Power-Saving Mode, it is allowed to set up the mode working schedule to ‘Always On’ or ‘Only On During a Time Period’.
If you select a power saving mode to ‘Only On During a Time Period’, Deco will be in the Normal mode for the rest of the time.
- WiFi Schedule
After enabling the Wi-Fi Off Time, The Wi-Fi will be turned off during the schedule, and the wireless clients will be disconnected from the Deco network. Only the wired Deco units and the devices wired to these Deco units will not be affected. If ‘Keep 2.4GHz Wi-Fi On’ is enabled, the 2.4G Wi-Fi remains on, but other Wi-Fi bands will be turned off. In this situation, the Deco units are working, but only have 2.4G and a wired connection.
Note:
1. During the Wi-Fi off time, all Wi-Fi networks including main Wi-Fi, guest Wi-Fi , and IoT network will be turned off.
2. If ‘Keep 2.4GHz Wi-Fi On’ is disabled, all Wi-Fi network settings can't change during the Wi-Fi off time. You need to disable the 'Wi-Fi Off Time' feature to change your Wi-Fi settings.
3. If you want to have Deco Wi-Fi during the Wi-Fi off time period, you could disable Wi-Fi Off Time in the Deco app directly. If you cannot modify through the Deco app, simply restart all the main and satellite Decos, and then you can connect to the Deco Wi-Fi again.
- LED Control
You might see this one before on the Deco APP and it works the same as the previous LED Control feature. If you set up LED control before, the settings can be synced under ECO settings.
Please feel free to comment below if you want to know more about this feature.

I understand that Eco-mode is not currently available on Deco XE75 Pro. Probably, not sure, in the future. Is there any other option how to turn off the wifi system ? For example
- if i switch off the power of the main Deco "router" (in the evening), do the satellites/nods broadcast wifi ? Of course they are not connected to the internet, thus useless? If I later (in the morning) turn on the power, will the mesh system work properly without any need to manually do something ?
- if I turn off the power for all Deco units, it dead of courde, howeever, if I turn the powerr on, will the mesh system work properly without any adjustments ?
My question is, whether schedulling the power outlet rather than the DECO Wifi is also one of the option without any harm to the Deco units.
Thanks a lot
V.

@KodyVN Hi, welcome to the community.
Please refer to the following details:
- the same feature is also planned to be added on Deco Xe75 pro but no ETA could be guaranteed.

Satellite Deco would broadcast Wi-Fi when the main Deco is off but you are right, the Wi-Fi has no internet access. later when the main Deco is powered back, the satellite Deco will re-link to the main Deco without further configuration. And the Mesh will recover itself automatically when all the Deco units are powered back.
As for your inquiry about why the Wi-Fi schedule was chosen instead of the Power schedule, I am not sure how the engineers made the decision. But here is what I think, Most users mentioned they wanted to reduce Wi-Fi radiation when requesting this feature. Power Schedule could do the same but Wi-Fi Schedule could do more and it guaranteed internet access for a few wired devices. The recovery time of the Wi-Fi Schedule would be faster than the time of the Power Schedule.
Before the release of ECO mode, for the users who have to turn off the Wi-Fi of Deco or power off Deco for some time, we also suggest he could get a smart plug to schedule the power outlet. Scheduling the power outlet for Deco is quite like hot plugging when Deco is operating well. It has no obvious influence in the short term but the service time would finally suffer.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Is this feature planned for the X50 PoE? this feature would make it a clear winner versus my other options, during the day I want 4 access points online, but during the night 1 acces point in 2.4g only mode will do.
living in europe this will save me alot of power cost, especially since electricity during the day is free when my solar panels are on. but electricity at night is expensive and wasted. actually after calculating, this feature will pay for one X50PoE acces point once every 2 years
I don't need an ETA, just which to know if it is planned for the X50 PoE

@David-TP Hi. The ECO MODE feature is very useful. I can select the time interval from the mobile app, but unfortunately there is no setting to select the day. However, I only want ECO MODE to be active on weekdays. Can you add such a feature soon? Regards..
