Model: Archer VR600v
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.5.5.0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 220518 Rel.43816n

I have just installed this router and have been having nightmares trying to connect to the 2.4g network

Initally  I set up the 2.4g with new ssid

Git my phone and smart devices to connect successfully, I then changed the channel to 13 and 20mhz

After that my phone and any other new device refused to connect, but i could still  connect connect to the 5 ghz wifi.

After searching on the net I saw so many similar issues as mine, I tried deleting the log and disabled logging, this worked once, after that I was back to my initial problem.

I have enabled the guest network and can connect to that OK but still the main 2.4ghz wifi will refuse to connect any more devices.

Would appreciate some help

Hi, channel 12.13 are not commonly used channels for 2.4ghz and many mobile devices did not work with channel 12+13.

It is suggested to use channel 1/6/11 if you are looking for a less occupied channel.

Best regards.

Makes no difference. I have scanned the availability of channels. 13 was the clearest. My previous router was on channel 13 and everything worked fine.

I have tried other channels.

This doesn't explain how the guest WiFi works great but the main 2.4 WiFi still doesn't work

  @bLaZeR666_uk

Thanks for the quick reply.

How about other channels, like channel 1?  (Sorry I noticed you have tried it already)

So currently, as long as the 2.4ghz main network is on a customized channel, mobile clients would refuse to connect. But it did work fine if the channel was set to auto.

If it was the case, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

1. Would there be any error message when the devices failed to connect to the main 2.4ghz?

2. Could you please send a copy of the system log from the web UI?

3. Are you able to reproduce this issue most of the time?

4. Can I have the model numbers of the 2.4 GHz mobile clients?

Thank you very much for your cooperation and support.

Best regards.

1. Windows clients just don't connect, my mobile phone says cannot connect

2. Log is disabled. I will enable it and upload

3. as mentioned. Any 2.4ghz device will not connect.

4. All 2.4 Ghz Clients dont connect.. computers, mobiles, and any smart home devices, but they will connect to the guest 2.4ghz network (I have enabled this )

What is the maximum amount of cliends allowed on 2.4g?
