Hello TP-Link

When Deco X50 assigns IPv6 address to LAN clients it uses DHCPv6.

Background: my ISP provides IPv6 to Deco via DHCPv6-PD, so Deco can

assign addresses to the LAN clients.

However Android clients cannot do DHCPv6 and do not get IPv6 addresses.

I believe Android clients are forced to depend on SLAAC.

Hi, have you checked on the Deco APP whether Deco X50 has got an IPV6 address first?

And Have you tried to change the Assigned type here:

Internet connection type---Dynamic IP.

Assign type---SLAAC

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @tga516

Hi, Thanks for your message.

I have to admit that I am always a little confused about IPV6.

For the IPV6 passthrough, I believe you want to make the IPV6 firewall on Deco turned off by default since now it is set to block all outside access.

As for the IPV6 prefix management, do you mean the LAN Address prefix?

Would there be any specific reason that you want IPV6 prefix management?

Thank you very much.

best regards.

  @David-TP

I am following up as I'm having the same issue.

Your response David is that he should change his WAN setting to SLAAC.  That is not the issue.  The issue is the router delivering IPV6 addresses on the LAN side via SLAAC.

Android devices only received ipv6 via SLAAC, so using SLAAC on the LAN side is critical to a fully functioning router.  The WAN side settings work fine on the TP-Link, but the LAN side needs to support SLAAC.
