Model: TL-WA850RE

Hardware Version: V7

Firmware Version: 1.0.1

I've set up the RE to my wireless network. Let's call my existing wifi network name "MyWiFi"

Using the tether app to set up the device, the network name in the extender is MyWiFi_EXT

1. Is it safe to rename the extended wifi network to just MyWiFi ?

2. Should I or is it best to leave it as is?

For context, I'm using the extender to reach a computer at the other end of the house that was receiving a weak wifi signal.

All other devices in the house are portable....iPads and iPhones

Ok I think I have resolved this myself. The app on the iPhone doesn't give any suggestions as to what you could do...but when I connected the device to a computer and accessed settings via a web browser, I noticed a button "Copy Host SSID".

To me that's a clear indication that it's ok to use the same name.
