Deco X55 Range Extender?
Hello. Bought a 3pack of these back in April. Happy with it.
Current Configuration. Rented Hitron Modem/Router Sparklight provided. Deco Controls the 2200sf House
via cat8 into that old gal.
Just bumped to Gig internet, they're using the same Docsis 3.0 router for my connection now I'm not happy,
Low 600's Download 40&50 upload, so ordered Docsis 3.1 Modem so Deco can rule the roost.
Problem is, even when that comes, I have to extend the range to boost into the 1250sf detached steel garage from the
far end of the house. Currently, pull that off by using the 2.4ghz band on the Hitron combo to boost the signal from
the far end to a netgear range extender which pushes it out to the garage at least enough to open and close the garage which is 2.4ghz compatible period.
It's lame but it works and it's not a solution for the garage area as a whole.
Here's my question, as I wait for Wifi 7 and I will when I can. I need to extend the signal from my existing X55 mesh out further into
the world, and, I need real coverage further out onto the property. Also, I need to either add a couple more X55's one of which will be backhaul
for a gaming pc not in the same room as the queen mesh..... or, Do I need to add a 6E Mesh two pack to control the house, get a TP-Link extender to boost
that signal and use one of the 3 X55's as the gaming backhaul and place the other two in the garage area? With the options and my 62 year old
rural mail carrier brain I'm getting...... scattered.
White Mountains of Arizona are elementally challenging for hardware outside. Low double and single-digit cold plus the snow but not on the
covered porch where the current extender lives.
I'm absolutely looking for product recommendations to keep me happy until Wifi 7 lands for real.
Thanks!
