I may have found a quick workaround, I removed the furthest away extender from the OneMesh system, this way it connected to the extender that is closest to it while the second extender is still part of the mesh with the main router. Will see how this works out but my phone didn't have any issues with automatically connecting to the furthest extender that is not part of the mesh.

This would be extremely useful in my situation.

If it is defaulting back to the main router could you block the extender's mac address on the router which may force it to connect through one of the other extenders?  Or would it block the device across the whole network.  No idea if this may work.
