Hello,

I have my home gateway from ISP on the second floor and wifi is great overall, however extremely weak to none signal in the first floor.

On the first floor I have an ethernet access point which is connected through a lan cable to the home gateway on the second floor.

Can I use the RE650 as access point, connecting the device to the ethernet socket on the wall so indirectly linked to the home gateway

or does the RE650 needs to be directly connected to the home gateway?

Hello @BlackHoleBird

If there is Internet access from the wall socket/ Ethernet port on the first floor when a PC is connected to it , you can connect the RE to the wall Ethernet port directly and use it in AP Mode.

The range extender does not need to be connect to the router directly.
