@David-TP I have been running this now for a few days in AP mode without any issues. The signal selection option is a great feature as it allows me to ensure there remains a good connection through out the house
Normally the decos connect like this
Main Deco (2nd Floor) > Satellite Deco 1 (1st Floor) & Satellite Deco 2 (Ground floor)
but with this feature I can do the following: Main Deco (2nd Floor) > Satellite Deco 1 (1st Floor) > Satellite Deco 2 (Ground floor)
The connection preferences are also a good feature as I have some 2.4GHZ only devices (Arlo cameras) and this allows me to ensure they connect robustly always
I have not tried it in router mode given the ongoing issues I am having that the support team is investigating

@David-TP
Good evening! When will this firmware version appear on other M4 versions? Deko on the first floor connects to the wrong source =(
I want to manually switch the source. Due to the fact that the lower device catches a distant source, I lose about 40% of the speed.

@David-TP Is this firmware compatible with M5 w/ 1.6.1 and Deco M4(V4) w/ 1.1.0? Will this allow connection preference to be used?
i.e. mixed units?

Just tested with M5 and M4 w/ 1.10 and it works fine.
I would be good if this firmware were ported to older versions of the M4 too.
UPDATE: Connection Preference causes Harmony Hub WiFi to be kicked off the network - perhaps Harmony doesn't like being told which access point to connect to. Also, Harmony's app has trouble scanning for Harmony Hubs on the network with the M4s v4.0.
Also, one Wemo Mini Smart Switch refuses to work with M4 v4.0 units, not sure why, all my other Wemos connected properly. Moving the Wemo Smart Switch closer to my M5s allowed it to connect - very strange ONE Wemo refuses to connect.
Saying that, last year (?) one fo the firmwares broke Wemo compatiblity ... hopefully that is not the case.

hey, I upgraded to version 1.1.0 but I can't get back to the previous 1.0.2, can anyone help?
Everything done according to the tutorial, used HTTP Uboot Method , because m4 does not support the second option as shown in the table.
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2958/
1.
ip set a static IP address of 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0
2.
device switched off and "reset" button pressed and held down
3.
device switched on with "reset" pressed
4.
device switches on, lights up yellow - flashes white once - returns to yellow flashing and flashes all the time
5.
I refresh the 192.168.0.1 page
and there
6.
OK, I uploaded the correct firmware for the V4 version, the bar loads to 100%, while uploading the led still flashes yellow, after uploading the progress bar resets to the state before uploading without any message as in the sceenshot. Deco m4 still flashes yellow.
7.
I switch the device off and on.
8.
I connect under configuration and check if it is successful, unfortunately after 10 attempts it is still on version 1.1.0
Is there a different method on the deco m4 v4 than on v1/v2?, as the table does not mention the v4 version there is only v1/v2.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi, sorry for the delay.
Deco M4 v4 used the same firmware recovery method as V1/V2 via HTTP Uboot Method.
Would it be possible to send a small video clip about the firmware recovery process to support.forum@tp-link.com?
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

I have recommended this firmware to at least two people on that forum, and in both cases they couldn't save signal selection. On trying to save, Deco app produces error message "Failed to save your preference. Try again later."
In one case, M4(V4) was connected set of M4(V2), in another - to set of P9.
I wonder, @allibhai, what Deco models do you have in your Deco mesh other than M4(V4), if any?
Also, anyone else who installed M4(V4) firmware beta but can't get past "Failed to save your preference. Try again later" error message while trying to save signal source selection - please reply to this topic.
