This is the beta program you guys should update it regularly, anyone downloading a beta firmware should know it's not as stable as the official firmware, and yet here we are the last beta you shared with us was 8 months ago, I don't know how you test new builds like this.

Hi, the beta version, which we have publicly released in the forum, is also under several internal tests before being provided for trial. And I do agree that anyone downloading beta firmware should know it's not as stable as the official firmware. But the firmware shared by Dekonass is still under testing and hasn't been good enough as an early released beta firmware for large-scale trials. Once it has passed several rounds of further quality tests, we'd love to share it here for more suggestions.
Best regards.

Hi, please leave me a direct message with your TP-Link ID and a brief description of why you want to test this firmware so that I could check whether the current issue has been optimized by this version.
Best regards.

I can't edit de post, so I can't remove the link.
The fw 1.6.1 I shared it, because all the guys are sad, and maybe moving to another brand, and I wait 3 days for you do anything.
The fw 1.6.1 is OK, with the bandwidth from the ISP it's full 1Gbps, have better Wi-Fi speed, wired network works fine, no problems. Have more functional menus on app. Nat working well.
Everything is OK with m9 plus V2.0.
Thank you TP-LINK.

Hi David. Will TPlink release ver1.6.1 for HW1.xx? or ver 1.6.1 is applicable for HW ver2.x in final release?

I asume both...
My network is a mixture of V1 and V2 devices. To have benefits of the new features all devices must be updated.
Can you please confirm?

I have just upgraded my multi deco system from 3XM5 and 3xM9 Plus to 4xX50-PoE and 3xM9 Plus - given that the M9 did not have connection preference and my system seems to focus most devices in the house to one (not the main) M9 i thought I would install the 1.6 for V2 M9 Plus Beta FW to allow me to choose the preferred node for the various wifi devices around the house
However, it seems the only addition in the FW is to allow the one node (m9 Plus) not on hardwired ethernet to choose which hardwired X50 it connects to - nothing has changed in allowing the client devices to choose (or me to select) based on signal strength which is absolutely ridiculous given some devices are showing 1 bar or zero due to the distance to the M9 they are choosing vs (in some cases) one X50 or M9 that is within 2 feet of the client device????????
Any suggestions as this makes a mockery of the whole set up and I may as well send all of the decos back except the one being connected to and the main (router connected) one!

Yes, for a mixed system, to have the benefits of the new features, like signal source/connection preference, all devices must be updated. But some features, like smart DHCP, DDNS, only require support on the main Deco.
The official 1.6.x will be released for Deco M9 Plus V1( V1.6 is also V1) altogether with V2.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi, Thanks a lot for the feedback.
Since the latest firmware for Deco X50-POE does not support signal source/connection preference, in a mixed Mesh system, you could still manually select the connection preference for mobile devices even though the satellite M9 plus units have been updated to 1.6.x already.
The current issue is no longer related to this topic anymore and I wish you could start a new thread or send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com.
It is also suggested to have a look at this link to get more details about why clients don't roam to the nearest unit.
