  @Frankie_G77

Stick with 1.5.6 or, please stop using TP-LINK shizzle.

  @David-TP I still have the speed drop issue. Downgrading to the previous firmware is not possible. When will there be a solution?

  @MarvinZH I downgraded due to instability issues, link is one of the earlier pages, I'd recommend using a laptop as it can be easier to set up to reset all one by one

I have performed the downgrade. But the Deco with firmware 1.5.6 cannot connect to the internet.... the Deco with Firmware 1.6 does..... Very annoying all this.

  @MarvinZH for me, all I had to do was downgrade and they reconnected, but the one I didn't have connected to ethernet did need a reset from the button, and needed to be readded to the network before it worked :o

  @David-TP

1. This firmware CAN'T be downgraded to the previous 1.5.6 version. )

Some people already downgraded the firmware to 1.5.6 due to abandoned beta program for M9+ and I wish to do this too, but how?

If it's an official method, why you guys put this note on the first place on the main thread?

MarvinZH

Hi Marvin, Sorry for the delay.
 Firstly, I think the previous speed issue on the Deco M9 Plus is not related to 1.6.0 which was also supported by another user-naenee (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/574954?replyId=1153436)

But since you have downgraded the firmware back to 1.5.6, now, Deco M9 could not connect to the internet. We can put the 1.6.0 firmware aside.
When I checked your TP-link ID, I noticed it is online on the cloud server. So it should be working now. In this way, have you fixed the network issue on your own?
If yes, would you mind telling me what settings you have changed on the Deco?
I also would like to follow up on your case via email#TKID221210198 in case I missed your reply again.

  @Frankie_G77

Can I have more details about your speed issue after the 1.6.0 upgrade?

How did you run the speed test? via Ethernet cable or wireless connection?

Please also help me check whether the speed dropped as well when only the main M9 plus is connected.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @xQuantum

Hi, Deco M9 plus could be downgraded back to 1.5.6 from 1.6.0 via firmware recovery-How to use firmware recovery. It is not a common troubleshooting suggestion unless there is none left. Normally it is used when Deco was bricked.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thanks for your comment. You're not going to believe it, but since the downgrade to 1.5.6, the speed is back to normal! The downgrade finally succeeded. I will never update to 1.6 again.

For all those with a speed drop, downgrade to 1.5.6 and the problem is fixed.

  @MarvinZH I wouldn't write off 1.6 entirely, just wouldn't advice the current beta. or almost any pre-release firmware from TP-link.
