 I've been dealing with chronic slowness and dropped connections since updating to 1.6. After exchanging a ton of emails with support, disabling 'fast roaming' in the advanced settings seems to have resolved my issues. Internet is back to being stable, no dropped connections in the 18 hours since (compared to every other minute leading up to it)

Can you please add Connection Preference for Guest Network

This feature is already available for main network, we just need it to be available for the guest network users too, it will be nice to control 2.4/5Ghz and preferred unit for these users too.

Please tell us if it's even something you consider adding in the near feature or not?

+1 for this feature.  For security, I have many IOT devices connected to my guest network.  TVs, cameras, other IOT devices that I want to keep separate from my computer network.  These are the devices I MOST need to be able to choose a connection preference for.  For instance, I have a TV that barely functions because it insists on connecting to a node that is on the other side of the house.  Yes I can force connect it by turning off the other Decos and disabling mesh, but I have over a dozen of these IOT devices that I would need to do this with - and more getting added all the time.

  @Ghostcheeks If I do a wired test via the Deco M9 Plus, the speed is not the same as with another router...?

Deco M9:

Not the Deco M9:

  @MarvinZH

Hi, Do you test the speed via Ethernet connection to the main M9 plus?

Since you comment under Deco M9 plus 1.6.0, did the speed drop to half of the ISP bandwidth after updating to 1.6.0?

If not, could you please do me a favor to start a new thread and provider more details, such as:

1. The operation speed on Deco M9 plus, wireless router or access point?

2. Have you tried "Test internet speed" on the Deco APP? if yes, how much speed will you get?

3. Please make sure QOS has been set to 1000m/s upload and download.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP The speed has dropped since the update to 1.6. I'm doing the speed test through the main M9 deco. QOS is at 1000/1000mbps. When I do a speed test through the app I get this result.

  @MarvinZH I'm running the Deco M9 Plus as well, updated to the latest beta combined with the 3.0.19 app. I'm using wired backhaul.

We seem to be in the same country, so I did a speedtest and get no real difference between connected directly to the M9 and connected to my ISPs modem.

I'm not using any QoS.

First speedtest = connected directly to the main M9. Second speedtest = connected to the modem. Both through two switches.

There's no speed drop since upgrading the firmware, with other speedtests than Ookla I can easily max out my 1Gbit/1Gbit connection.

I think that the 20-30mbps difference is neglible, if I run repeated tests, I get slightly different values but never such a huge difference as you're showing.

I don't think your issue is due to the firmware.

Hi David,

 This is a low priority post :-).

 I have an instance of Home Assistant (Home automation software) running on my network. It has a plug-in that interrogates UPnP devices for any information.they can supply and displays it prettily for me :-). With the v1.60 firmware, it discovers our M9+, grabs the initial upnp schema, but then doesn't pick up anything else. There's any error logged on the M9+ every time it makes a poll;

Fri Nov 25 04:33:32 2022 daemon.notice miniupnpd[22625]: SoapMethod: GetStatusInfo"
Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
Accept: */*
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate
Content-Length: 267
<?xml version="1.0"?><s:Envelope s:encodingStyle="[schema URL that the forum editor can't handle]" xmlns:s="[schema URL that the forum editor can't handle]"><s:Body><u:GetStatusInfo xmlns:u="urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:WANIPConnection:1"></u:GetStatusInfo></s:Body></s:Envelope>: illegal url /oonil/ctl/IPConn

Am i safe to presume the miniupnp setup is still a "work in progress" (ie the URLs are yet to be implemented) or should I do a bit more diagnosis?

Update 01  - I've reset the plug-in a few times and it now appears to mostly work. It's just that specific part of the schema that's not implemented/working yet. As it's just a simple boolean flag indicating WAN connection status, I'm treating it as cosmetic and ignoring it :-).

Regards,

Keith

Any news about the new firmware for M9+? We are asking for news, not the actual release date.

  @xQuantum  @David-TP

Please keep in mind that TP-Link doesn't care about his customers.

They are proud of launching new products every week, but don't serve their customers.

It's a money making machine without customer centricity. So, please stay away from TP-LINK

Also have issues with download speed since installing this firmware. Basically dropped around 40%
