Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.13.7

Hello,

I have FTTH Boadband 500MBPS, using a Fritzbox7350. I have one DecoM4r connected to the FritzBox by Ethernet cable and a second Deco M4r in one of the rooms on the other side of the house.

My connection is usually pretty great at around 180-190 MBPS (Not sure why it isn't closer to 300MBPS Though)

Anyway...very often throughout the day I find that the connection drops on my phone. My wife can be sitting beside me using her phone (same model) and have excellent conenction but I get disconnected. Then other times, my connection is fine and her connection drops and she can't play a Youtube video or instagram reel. This hapens up to 40  times a day.

I sometimes use the network optimization tool and it always tells me that my wi-fi channel is congested but when I use wi-fi analyzer, it shows only 1 network using my Fritzbox channel and my two decos using the other channels

Please suggest how I Can diagnoze the problem.

On the Deco webpage I pulled a report and here are some sample error messages I receive:

  @TheNewGuy

Thanks for the feedback.

There are some suggestions for your reference:

1. As for the network optimization issue, please install the beta firmware on this link to have a look:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/264506

2. Please turn off the "Mesh Technology" on the mobile phones that randomly dropped the connection.

  @David-TP Thank you. How do I "turn off the "Mesh Technology" on the mobile phones that randomly dropped the connection."

Do you mean, don't connect to my Deco network any more?

Do you mean, uninstall the Deco app?

I don't understand. How do I do this on my android phone?

  @TheNewGuy

There is a "Mesh" on/off button on the Deco APP for each mobile device.

When turning it off, Deco will not actively suggest it roaming between each unit but if the device itself supports roaming protocol will still tend to connect the stronger signal.

so for some old devices that did not have good compatibility with Mesh Technology, we will suggest turning off "Mesh Technology" to see whether it helps improve the connectivity.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
