Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20220401 Rel. 57404(4555)

Is there any way to make AX1500 a local dns server?

Whatever computers connect to it - I cannot use their names, have to fallback to IP addresses.

DHCP is enabled on the router, works ok.

PS The actual version of my router is V1.20 - but it is not available on the list.

Hello @sudaltsov

TP-Link routers don't support resolving the local hostnames via DNS. While the router won't block that data or traffic. If the local device supports LLMNR protocol or similar protocols, such as Windows computers, you can still access the device via its hostname.

As far as I know, there is currently no plan to add the support for resolving the local hostnames via DNS on the Archer AX1500, but we will surely forward your request to the engineering team for serious consideration.

@Kevin_Z thanks for the straight answer.

I hope TP-Link will add that function, it is quite common on routers of other vendors - and I am sure a lot of people miss that on otherwise great TP-Link products.

Please let me know if there will be any update on that.
