The modem that my ISP provider is very bad for gaming. XB7 keep have 156ms + when tested on my Xbox. So I bought GX90 to get my ping down. It was working fine for 1week. The ping drip to 20 ms for a week. My modem had some problems so I have to factory reset it. After that I cannot get my router work under bridge mode. I factory reset GX90 and it finally connected to internet, but the ping for Xbox jump from 20 ms to 156 - 220 now. Anyone know how to deal with this problem?

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the TP-Link community.

Can I know who is your ISP? How is the Xbox connected to the GX90 now? As per your description, it seems that you got 156ms+ ping when connecting to the ISP modem directly, I would suggest checking with your ISP first to be sure you can get a normal ping from them as the GX90 generates the internet from the modem, thus all the traffic will need to pass through the modem, you will get a latency even though you got a GX90 between the modem and the Xbox.

I think whenever you were resetted your modem, the modem goes into not-bridged mode, I have an experienced before that bridged modem sometime need either custom options, or sometime custom VLAN being setup in the modem.

I think the best option would be contacting your ISP to setup again bridged modem.

1. my isp is Shaw

2. My ping is about 8 to 26 with Speedtest.

3. The tech from Shaw came yesterday and change some cable. The ping on Speedtest improved about 1 to 2ms, the Xboxtest is getting the same about 156 to 200.

4. This all happened after XB7 overheat. The tech did left me with another XB7, I will try again tonight.

5. I switch to bridge mode when I reset my modem, and I tried every port.

6. Xbox is connected to GX90 directly with cable.

7. The ping did change from 156 to 20 when I First got GX90 1week ago.
