AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender - stops original wifi
My TPLINK AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender when connected directly to the ethernet (not to the original modem) starts working creating ane extended wifi network and I'm able to connect devices, but the original wifi (from the modem) stops working for laptops while still working for smartphones and tablets.
How is that possible? the extender is not connected to the original wifi from the modem, it is connect solely to the ethernet from a distant room.

@Drwine Could you explain better what is happening?

I connected my tplink extender directly to the ethernet in my room (not to the router).
Now the extended wifi network works really well in my room, but the wifi from the router (not generated by the extender) started having connectivity problems on my laptop (Macbook Pro 2015), but It kept working for other devices such as iPad (2019) and iPhone (2021).
To me it doesn't make any sense, but I tested multiple times and that's exactly what happens.

@Drwine try to make the connection via wireless, as you said it makes no sense, the networks are with the same SSID? If you are, try to differentiate the network of the router and the repeater and see if that works, and pass me the feedbacks if it solved the problem or not, and finally what is the brand of your main router?

@Drwine but are you using the same wifi name as the router on the repeater?
