Deco M4 capped at 250 Mbps
Hi!
My ISP offers 500 Mbps but no matter what I do I get around 250Mbps through 5Ghz Wi-Fi for my main Deco M4R. I removed QoS, Parental Control, and UPNP.
My setup is ISP > Main Deco > Secondary Deco.
I get 500Mbps on https://www.speedtest.net/ when connected via cable to the main Deco.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, could you please also check the link speed on the client when it is connected to the 5Ghz:
How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client
And may I know the model number of the device that is used for the speedtest?

Hi!
Thanks for the response, I use Samsung Galaxy A52. It shows 433Mb/s in the Wi-Fi settings tab.
I ran the speed test again, I got 260Mb/s.
For a cross check I also used Dell Precision 5540 (Linux), it gave a similar result - around 260Mb/s.

@David-TP could you please advise?

Hi, Sorry for the delay.
For Deco M4, the maximum link speed is 866m/s, but on the A52, the 5ghz link speed could only reach 433m/s, so 260ms out of 433m/s, about 60% speed ratio.
The speed is quite acceptable considering the link speed. And if the link speed of A52 could reach 866m/s, the desired speed would be 350m/s-500m/s.
So the slow speed of A52 is limited by the link speed of the smartphone. I see the WLAN specification of A52, it is 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac as well so it could reach 866m/s.
In this way, you could check whether the operating system needs to be updated or will it get full link speed-866m/s when connecting to another wifi 5 router.
For the Dell Precision 5540, you could have a check of the link speed as well.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.
