Model: Archer C50
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: Archer C50(EU)_V6_210222

It's my first TP Link router and I'm frustrated that the 5 GHz WiFi has not more than 70 mbit/s power according speedtest.net. I use the TP Link as Access Point, an another access point can reach 500 Mbit/s.

I followed the instructions from Kevin from following post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/228736

However with a small success, where why speed from 60 to 70 Mbit/s increased.

In a german speaking forum I read that the router had a factory fault, so he received a new router and now it's working.

my question: if the instructions from Kevin is not working, how can I get a new router? As the promised 867 Mbit/s is not performanced?

thank you in advance  for your quick solution offer and support.

Hello @GCG

Firstly and most importantly, please be aware that the Archer C50 is built-in with 100Mbpb LAN/WAN ports, which means you cannot get a maximum speed of more than 100 Mbps. Router specifications can be found below:

https://www.tp-link.com/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c50/#specifications

867 Mbps or 300 Mbps is the internal wireless connection speed between the computer/wireless client and the router, which is not equal to the maximum speed you can get from the internet. You can refer to the following story to understand why it has 100M bps WAN/LAN ports:

Explanation about the speed parameters on the box of TP-Link product

You may also check the FAQ below to know more about the speed concerns:

Questions about the internet speed on a TP-Link router

If you paid a 1 Gbps or 500 Mbps bandwidth, Archer C50 is not your best choice, you should get a gigabit router, such as Archer C6 or C7.
