Im trying to understand something about my router...

 

Whats the point on having 1× 2.5 Gbps WAN Port if my 8xLAN ports are Gigabit, I just don't understand the logic on that.

 

If my ISP modem has 2.5 Gbps ports and and I have a 2Gbps speed service, my LAN connection on my PCs will be gigabit even if I have a motherboard with 2.5Gbps port cuz they will be connected via Ethernet to my TP Link router. My ISP modem its configure only as bridge. My AX11000 its the one controlling everything, but I just don't get it.

 

I will be very grateful if someone can explain it.

AX11000 supports Static Link aggregation of LAN ports:

 

 

Read through this FAQ for more details on that.

The example in question is for a NAS but that could be equally valid for any server or PC which is equipped with a 2x 1gbps LAN ports and Static Link Aggregation option.

Regarding the 2.5G WAN port concern, terziyski's answer is correct when referring to Link Aggregation between the LAN connections.

 

While the 2.5G WAN is also designed for the super-fast wireless connections, as you can see its 5G speed can reach up to 4804 Mbps, which means you can get a maximum of 4804 Mbps negotiation speed when using a 4×4 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 card. With a 2×2 MU-MIMO WiFi 6 card like AX201, you can theoretically get 2402 Mbps.
