@David-TP Combining 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz is fine for simple users. But it is hell to deal with with 2.4Ghz-only IoT devices. I also dont want my phone randomly connecting to 2.4Ghz.

I'm returning my unit. Such a simple feature, yet not available. Pathetic.

@David-TP has anyone noticed there is no longer an option for a 6ghz dedicated wireless backhaul in the app anymore?  Not saying it's not using this feature, it's just the setting seemed to have disappeared.

@David-TP create a guest network and then you can pick one of the frequencies

I have had huge problems since switching to Deco mesh. Everytime I have to connect a smart device it takes a long time of just trying over and over agian to get it to connect. Also my work laptop wil no longer autoconnect to neither main og guest wifi and often will not manually connect also!?

With previous Amplifi HD mesh this was never a problem and I could have seperate SSID for 2.4 and 5Ghz, wich SHOULD 100% be an option for ANY router or network!?

Is there a hardware limitation prohibiting this feature or are TPlink just lazy and or stupid?

They say you can use IoT og guest and set 2.4 only, but are these allowed to talk to the main network then?

@Aljewari setup guest work, enable local access, set it to 2.4ghz only. Set your main network to 5ghz only. Congrats you have now split the bands. You lose the guest network as it becomes your 2.4ghz band. I tried to use IOT network first but was super unstable, so I ended up doing this and its working great.

yes for guest netowkr you can enable local access so your devices can communicate with each other

These needs to be implemented asap - on further testing the guest network becomes extremely sluggish. Perhaps there is firmware limitations that throttles it but it becomes unusable for cameras. I ended up setting 2 decos in AP mode as 2.4ghz only and another 2 decos as 5ghz only. This has been the only stable solution for me to split the bands effectively
