Does Deco support separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs?
Deco supports disabling 2.4GHz and 5GHz separately under the Main/Guest/IOT networks.
As for separate SSIDs over 2.4GHz and 5GHz, it might not be completed via a single network, But you could set the Main Network to 5GHz only, and then create a different SSID for the 2.4 GHz only IOT network.
“One Network” is widespread in Mesh networks in order to enjoy seamless roaming, which is different from non-mesh traditional routers that require you to connect to the band you want manually. So we tend to remain one SSID per network, and Deco keeps its network simple by automatically choosing the band that gives you the best wireless roaming experience. It uses the same name for both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands under the same network. Both radio bands are active simultaneously. If the device is only compatible with 2.4 GHz, then it won't try to connect to 5 GHz. And if it supports both, it will connect to only one radio band at any given time. Based on the device's capabilities, the Band Steering feature of Deco will attempt to guide your connected devices to the band with the best performance.
So if you want separate SSIDs over 2.4 GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi here is what you could do:
- Turn off 2.4 GHz under the Main Network.
- Enable the IOT network with a different SSID under 2.4 GHz only.

Ladies and Gentlemen, they are finally listening. It took over a year but they have just released a firmware update (at least for my XE75). You still cannot create an additional SSID or WI-FI network but now you can at least choose which band you want your specific device to connect to. I'm assuming they are making this change for all or most deco systems but you guys can let me know here. I hope they will continue in this direction and add the additional features we've long been asking for.

@syltann My Deco W3600 does not have this option and I'm on latest firmware :(
How did you navigate to this option in the app?

In the Deco app I opened my network and then picked the deco that I was looking for. This shows all the connected clients and you just pick the client you want to change settings for. Once the client is opened there is an option called "Connection Preference". Inside there you can choose the specific band you want that device to use as well as the specific deco you want that device to connect to. If you didn't get this new firmware update then you might not have this feature unfortunately. But if TP-Link is listening and starting to make changes customers are asking for then hopefully everyone will get these features.

@DragonMan I updated yesterday my Deco X60 firmware. No I have an option to have a new net called IOT (you can change the name) It is only 2,4. The older net is still 2,4 and/or 5.2.
