Model: Deco
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 20211228 Rel. 56304

I have 2 Deco W6000 units set up in my network where I have a  TL-SG108 switch connected to my main Deco unit along with the ethernet cable from my modem. On that switch, I have a raspberrypi set up with a static IP reserved from the Deco app but it shows as offline even when it can connect to the internet. The other wired devices on that switch also show as offline as they can still connect to the internet so it's mostly an annoyance but I am unable to see their internet speeds/manage them with the app.

From the support page, it seems as this intended behavior. https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1898/#:~:text=If%20Deco%20does%20have%20internet,page%20and%20then%20release%20it.

Does anyone know if I can fix this or if there is a workaround so they don't always show as offline?

Thanks.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

For the issue described here:

When Deco units are on Ethernet Backhaul via a Network switch, the client devices connected to the same switch still have internet access but show up as offline on the deco app.

We have the beta firmware for the following models:

Deco M4-v4-The latest official firmware has fixed this issue

Deco X20-V3-1.0.6 build 20230117

Deco X50-V1-The latest official firmware has fixed this issue

Deco X55-V1-The latest official firmware has fixed this issue

Deco X60-V3-The latest official firmware has fixed this issue

Deco X60-V4-The latest official firmware has fixed this issue

Hi  @PT61

I'm having the same problem with newly installed Deco X60 - all my devices connected to my TPLink TL-SG1024 switch show as offline when I connect my remote X60 via ethernet backhaul. OK when the remotes use wi-fi backhaul to the main.

Im swapping emails with tech support, but they're mostly proving stock answers and asking for info that I provided in my initial report.

Did you get any resolution?

  @David-TP

Thanks David

That firmware update has resolved this issue for me - both satellite X60s are on ethernet backhaul and I can see all my wired clients again :-)

  @David-TP I'm having a similar issue with a newly installed X73-DSL, that is connected to a 16 port TP-Link switch, which then has 3 X60's connected via ethernet backhaul. The X60's are all v1 hardware, using v1.50 firmware, build 20210121 release 54042. Worth noting I didn't have this issue until I introduced the X73 last week.

  @tommyc216

Welcome to the community and I also got your email.

I hope you could help me check the following details as well:

1. In this post, we mainly said the wired clients on the same switch will be offline and I see you mentioned in the email all the devices will be offline, even the wireless devices?

2. Could you please refer to this picture to send me the APP log as well.

3. By the way, May I know the model number of the TP switch?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP I recently started using Deco. I got the X60 and have four in my home (one main connected directly to the modem, 2 using Ethernet backhaul, and one using wireless backhaul).

I have an Ethernet switch at home, and some devices are connected directly to the switch with static IPs (e.g. smart home controller).

Some of these devices are NOT showing up on the client list in the Deco app even though they have internet access.

I am running FIrmware Version:1.5.1 Build 20210204 Rel. 50164.

  @HazemZ

Welcome to the community.

I see from your TP-Link ID that there are 1*V3+3*V2 and the V3 is the main Deco.

In this way, could you please try to install the beta firmware in the Recommended Solution to see whether it helps with the current issue.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Hi

I too had the issue with devices not showing so I installed the beta for X60 V3 hardware from the above link.

The update has worked but the version of the firmware now reads 1.0.0 Build 20220308 Rel 42176.  If I click update firmware, it thinks the last release (1.0.9 Build 20211228) is newer and would update to it if I allow it.

Is this correct that the beta version is older but the build newer?

Thanks

Stu

  @StuBFrost

Hi, Welcome to the community.

I would say the version number 1.0.0 is lower so it could be reverted back to official 1.0.9 or even 1.1.0 later. But the release date(or the build numbers) of the beta version is newer.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
