Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.2

Hi, could someone help..i am at the moment in a dispute with VM...my speed should be 350mbps, which I rarely get..there have been times where my speeds have dropped to below 1mbps making it useless. VM insist that from their  tests there is nothing wrong on their side and it must be my system.I disagree as I have had the same issues with a archer router a mercusys cheap mesh system and now this m4 mesh..my set up is Hub 3 in modem mode  wired with cat 7 cable hardwired from main router to a ethernet switch for tv and sky Q box I have a mesh network and a guest network on 2.4 with separate ssid and password to allow easy connection of smart devices.  Question...is there any way my mesh can cause this loss of speed on the wifi and it also affects the wired devises as well on both networks and bands  .is there anything I should look for in the setting perhaps..any help would be appreciated thanks

Ps is there any reason I can't access the router on 192.168.0.1? ..i can if I log in via the web page though...sorry for such a long post but VM are driving me mad

You could try setting your VM Hub 3 in router mode and use the Deco M4 in AP mode, to check if that will make any difference.

Once VM Hub 3 in router mode you could turn off its wi-fi to avoid a possible wireless interference with the Deco mesh.

@terziyski  I don't know how to do that besides if it means re-initialising my smart devices that would be a pain, also I believe the fault is VM's I cannot even access the hub to change any settings (192/168.100.1) connection keeps timing out  ..i have taken speeds from the mesh settings ( discovered that last night) and also from a device app, ( phone and tablet) and they are identical...obviously a device app reads it's incoming speed, but does the mesh router measure it's incoming cable speed or it's outgoing wifi speed if it is it's incoming speed I have a argument with VM..Thanks

The Virgin Media community site is very good for issues like you are experiencing. A lot of helpful people on there who could help you with the  Virgin media router.

BT Full fibre 500, 1x X60 V3.2 in router mode and 1 x XE75Pro V2.

I would backup the Deco M4 settings as they are now and then try to set it up in AP mode - that's a way to restore the current configuration of your M4 if anything goes wrong.

If you switch the Deco M4 mode to AP, and set its wireless settings the same (if they didn't retain them) then your smart devices should re-connect automatically.

According to the VM guide, your Hub 3 should be accessible at 192.168.100.1 in modem only mode and at 192.168.0.1 in router mode:

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-hub-modem-mode#hub3orhub4

You just have to find the reason why you don't have an access to the Hub 3 web interface.

Apart from that make sure that the negotiation speed of the ethernet port between Hub 3 and the M4 is 1000mbps - details in  this thread and this guide.
