Firmware Version: 3.20.1 Build 200316 Rel.34392n (4555)

I am trying to extend the wifi coverage of a Huawei B612 233 4G router with a TL-WR940N in range extender mode. The TP Link is able to detect the Huawei and establish a connection (light is blue), however there is no internet access.

However, I also own a third wifi router. If I link it by ethernet cable to the Huawei AND connect the TP Link to router 3 in range extender mode internet works fine.

What could be the problem preventing the TP Link from connecting directly to the Huawei router? Would be grateful for any help.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

It is suggested for you to upgraded firmware of your TL-WR940N to the latest one first.

Please refer to this guide to upgrade firmware: How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers?

After you upgrade firmware, please try to connect TL-WR940N to your Huawei B612 233 4G router again and see if there will be any difference.

If TL-WR940N still doesn't have internet, please check if there is any whitelist settings on your Huawei router and TL-WR940N is not in the list.

And please also connect your phone to TL-WR940N wifi and see what IP address and default gateway you can get. How to find IP address on your devices?

BTW, you mentioned that your TL-WR940N can sccessfully connect to the third router, so may I know what is the model of the third router? Thanks.
