Model: TL-PA4020P KIT
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.4.0.20-00_402114_191120_901

My model wasn't listed on dropdown so Ignore link above, I brought this starter kit: HERE

They seem to work okay, but randomly loose connection and reconnect on there own again, within 30 secs but it's annoying when trying to watch netflix or play a game online. I've listed a log of the disconnecs my computer recorded below.

I've tried disabling power savings using the TP-Link PLC Utlity and that does nothing, I've also read about sending a constant ping to a website but my Network Monitor program that recorded the log below does that anyway to three different DNS servers. I don't know whats causing it, some people say try updating the firmware but I don't see any on product page for my kit, there is firmware list for the seperate models (TL-PA4010P & TL-PA4020P) but they seem older than whats already installed and I don't want to brick them using wrong files.

Hello @Gryphin

May I know House Led/LED Status on both devices when AV600 drops connection? And what is the powerline rate between 2* AV600 on tpPLC Utility?

It seems there is some lag/ intermittent in the network,  you could try some suggestions here:

  • Try a different wall socket for the extender powerline unit or put 2* AV600 closer or test in the same room and test performance
  • Try a different Ethernet cable between powerline unit & router/ network devices
  • Close unnecessary apps when play game or do video streaming

If PC/ Laptop connected to router and play games, is there any disconnecting? If put AV600 closer to each other, is there any improvement?

You could run the ping-t test and ping router's IP address & ping 8.8.8.8 when device connect directly to router, and when device connects through powerline kit.

Hi @Solla-topee,

All light stay green when connections drops and the rate between power line adapters is 431 Mbps.

I've tried different sockets the best I can but I only have two in each room with the power line adapter are located, also I can't move the closer together because of this as well one needs to be in same room as router and the other has to be in office.

I've tested different Ethernet cables including brand new cat5e and cat6 cables and still have same issues. I'm also only one on network when I was having connection issues, also no other unnecessary apps running either. I've run ping test with power line and it's 4ms between them.

The only way I've seem to get them to keep from disconnecting is to run a constant ping to the power line adapter. "ping -t 192.168.4.1" I leave that running it command prompt and it seem to stop it from disconnecting, I think it only dropped connection once since I've done this.

I would like to find a proper fix but I don't think it will happen there so many people online with same problem with these devices, some have fix with firmware but I guess there is no new one for my device.
