Web UI Configuration
The initial plan of the Deco Whole Mesh system is to configure via Deco APP as we hope to provide a super-easy installation and non-high tech required experience.
Due to this commitment, Deco APP allows us to quickly and easily install Mesh Wi-Fi System by just following the step-by-step set-up wizard. Some users commented, ”This thing literally holds your hand through the full setup. 99% of people will hit next, next, next, and you are on the internet” which is just what we want.
Next, Deco App allows monitoring the home Wi-Fi from anywhere without bringing a laptop and making changes right from your smartphone or tablet. So as long as taking your smartphone with you, the home network activity is under your control.
Then, with a few taps on the APP, the advanced features, like Parental Control, Port Forwarding, and QoS are ready to go.
Moreover, when it comes to firmware upgrades, the Deco APP will automatically push a message when new firmware is ready. All you need to do is click “Update Deco”.
While, with the time going on, we gradually received some feedback that users hope Deco could be configured via web UI or more advanced features could be configured on the web interface. Unfortunately, there has been no plan to add these features yet.
But we are open to any feedback and would be appreciated it if you could let us know why you prefer web configuration to APP setup. So we would collect more brilliant ideas which might be taken into consideration along with the future APP upgrade.
Thank you very much for your attention and please feel free to comment below.

@TP-Link I would like to add my vote for a web GUI. I am staggered that it doesn't exist. It's horribly fiddly doing anything via a phone, especially for the elderly like myself.
Also, the cloud service seems very unstable. I have been trying to diagnose low speed but it keeps telling me something went wrong with the cloud service which is driving me mad

@TP-Link This is obviously needed. Would not have bought the router if I knew it was missing. Will not recommend anyone to buy it.

@TP-Link I got a BE11000 setup based on the Wirecutter's recommendation for BE63, but I definitely echo the sentiment of others here. I wish I had researched better before buying! The lack of a usable web interface is frustrating. Fortunately I only have a few DHCP reservations and a few port forwards to setup, but it would all be much easier with a web browser. Can't they just make the phone interface available in a browser form?
Also lame to have to do all parental controls configuration on the phone too. Hopefully I don't need to make too many changes once everything is setup finally. But: will certainly not be recommending and won't be rating highly!

@poweruser2015 The issue is not that they can't do it, or that it would be too much work. They don't want to do it.
The argument from @TP-Link that they want to make it super easy for most consumers does not check out, since that would not prevent them from offering a Web-UI for the advanced users in addition to the app. And the web-ui is already there, but so castrated on purpose that it's not usable.
I am no fan of conspiracy theories, but it seems to be the only logical reason, that the government has a say in this, and wants to have complete control over the infrastructure. Too bad for me, that I found out only after my return period ended.

@TP-Link a web ui is very important for those of us who have to support non-tech savvy people (family members) as we really can't use remote control apps (zoom, Webex, etc) on someone's phone.

Considering how expensive these are, it is really baffling something like this is missing. +1

GIVE US A BROWSER INTERFACE!
Do you know why is a REALLY STUPID idea? Forcing someone to download a 350mb (somehow...) app to configure their Wi-Fi when they don't have working Wi-Fi!
I don't have Wi-Fi at the moment so I drove an hour into town to buy one of your stupid systems only to find out there is literally no way to configure it without your stupid app. Now I'm waiting hours for it to download on my 1 bar of 4G service and eating up a good bit of this month's cellular data.
Whoever thought of this should be fired and your family should feel great shame for trying to rationalize it.
Ill use it this week until I go back into town to return it. This absolutely infuriating. Hope you lose money on the returned equipment. Shame and on every last one of you.
