Mobile phone hotspot Wi-Fi itself sometimes does not work stably like Wi-Fi router, e.g. hotspot Wi-Fi may automatically turn off itself after certain time.

If possible, it is recommend to test adapter stability with a  wireless AP/ router? 

If adapter can't see mobile hotspot wifi, try download a WiFi analyzer app on a different phone, and see which Wi-Fi channel the Hotspot wifi is using, it is recommend to use channel 1-11 on 2.4Ghz.

1. When did you purchase this product and when did you get this issue?

2. How frequently does this adapter drop connection? Will connection restore automatically?

3. What is the distance between your redmi note 7 and the adapter? How many signal bars you can get on laptop?

And here are some suggestions you can try:

1. Update driver to the latest one

2. get adapter more closer to your hotspot

3. Try a different hotspot or Wi-Fi and see if there is any difference.
