Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20210121 Rel. 54042

Hi,

I am using a set of 3 Deco X60 as my mesh router for my home. The primary deco device is my main internet router, directly connected to the optic fiber termination.

I have changed ISP and I am facing the following issue:

My new ISP is assigning me any static IP 43.13.105.XX and their default gateway is 80.67.167.0.

My Deco is failing to setup correctly in DHCP and if I try to set a static IP I am getting an error due to conflicting IP with my local network subnet mask.

My ISP support is telling that my router (deco x60) does not seem to support IP and Gateway in /32.

They said they had already seen similar issues with other TP-Link devices in the past but that it had been fixed in firmware update.

But my Deco X60 seems to be running the latest firmware for this device (1.5.0 Build 20210121 Rel. 54042)

So far I have put my old router between my fiber termination and my deco, using mac clone as my ISP has registered my deco X60 mac address in their end.

This is a temporary solution that I would like to get rid of.

Would anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thank you very much in advance for your support and kind regards.

It is interesting to note that my issue results in the same problem as this post

 . not subnet mask defined if I set dynamic IP with DHPC

 - no internet connection as a result

@boobeat

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.
May I know who is your new internet service provider?
If the connection type on Deco is dynamic IP,is the WAN subnet mask automatically set to 0.0.0.0 on the APP?

Hi, I see the Deco X60 is online already, and have you got the issue fixed?

If yes, may I know how?

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

Hello,

My deco is online, but behind my old Asus router, which is able to cope with my ISP setting with no problem.

Here is my Asus router setting.

Subnet Mask

255.255.255.255

DNS

130.117.11.11

Gateway

80.67.167.0

As discussed here

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/222804?replyId=1044720

I'll try to change the default gateway to be 43.13.105.1/255.255.255.0, but I doubt it will work.

I'll come back later today with more info about this.

If my WAN subnet mask is 0.0.0.0, due to my ISP, is there anything that can be done to avoid WAN IP range and LAN ip range are overlapped ???

My Asus router is coping with this like a charm. Why can't my Deco router do the same?

Kind regards.

@boobeat

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

 I will wait for your test.

As for the settings on the Asus router, I do have once more question:

the subnet mask on Asus is 255.255.255.255 and you mentioned earlier that your WAN IP on the router should be 43.13.105.XXX, which seemed to be a totally different IP range from the gateway 80.67.167.0.

I have a talk with the engineers and he told me maybe the ISP DHCP server and gateway are separate devices.

In this way, if Deco is set up with the following settings, it should work fine:

WAN IP 43.13.105.100(for example)
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
DNS 130.117.11.11
Gateway 80.67.167.0

But if you still got the IP conflict error, I wonder what static IP settings you used to set up on Deco?

Would you please share a picture with me? (I have sent my email address via private message and you could try to send me an email)

By the way, can you also send me a screenshot of the IPv4 settings when you choose DHCP?

@TP-Link

Hi,

So I have done some further test.

The following setup with static IP configured does to work

WAN IP 43.13.105.100(for example)
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
DNS 130.117.11.11
Gateway 80.67.167.0

When I try to save it is says "invalid IP address". It also says that the IP is conflicting with my local subnet.

I'll send you some screenshots shortly by email.

I will also send you a screenshot of the config with DHCP enabled.

Kind regards,

Boobeat.
