Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20210125 rel.37999(4555)

I'm a bit confused with firmware upgrades on this router. Currently I'm running
Archer C7 V5 EU
1.1.2 Build 20210125 rel.37999(4555)

When I go to the router management dashboard, it's saying there's an upgrade available to the latest version: 1.1.2 Build 20210125 rel.37999

Are these not the same firmware versions?

Additionally I checked the TP-Link website to potentially do a manual upgrade since it didn't make sense to me. On the website it's saying the latest version is Archer C7(EU)_V5 200628 released 2020-08-05.

So how is 200628 newer than 20210125? Also, I know I updated the firmware in 2021, but the website is saying the latest firmware was released in 2020 and the firmware versions don't match up. So where the hell did I get my current firmware version?

Can someone help me clarify this situation and whether I should upgrade or not?

@terziyski

Thank you for the link! Now it makes sense.

My second question to TP-Link is why have they not updated the regional websites with the latest firmware? I'm in Vietnam, so I'm accessing the Vietnamese regional site. Here's what I see:
https://www.tp-link.com/vn/support/download/archer-c7/v5/#Firmware

That's quite a lapse in customer support. If they can't be bothered to update all regions with the correct firmware, they should just have one global site. Very poor planning on their part.

@ace543

That's a known issue (the site admin should take care of these changes).

Eventually these will be updated on the regional websites as well.

Therefor for EU FW releases the most current source is:
