We can only have one router in OneMesh system, but how many extenders can we have ideally?

Thank you for being interested in TP-Link OneMesh. You could have two range extenders added into OneMesh, and both range extender need to connect to main router directly, Not extender wirelessly to another extender for performance. Hello @nyonyo
Signal strength should be similar. But Archer C80 has higher spec on Wireless Speed, and better Ethernet ports, C80 is Gigabit and Deco E4 is Fast Ethernet (100Mbps).

@Solla-topee Yes, I know that Archer C80 has gigabit ports and AC 1900,...but in terms of wireless signal strength, what's the use of gigabit ports if onemesh doesn't support ethernet backhaul? and RE305 is only AC 1200, just like Deco E4, and in wireless network doesn't the speed go with the lower speed?

In Wireless network, the extender unit like RE / satellite Deco unit, the speed will get reduced due to half duplex and speed loss in wireless connection.
Spec of Ethernet port will limit the speed coming into router/ Deco.
If your ISP bandwidth is within 100Mbps,and you prefer seamless mesh + Ethernet backhaul , (2 pack ) DecoE4 is better.
If your ISP bandwidth is more than 100Mbps, prefer Wireless backhaul , I recommend C80+ OneMesh extender compare with E4.
By the way, Deco use Deco app for installation and management, hope this helps.

@Solla-topee If I have 100Mbps internet speed, what is the acceptable speed should I get on 2 Nodes Deco E4 and Archer C80 + RE305?

Hi @nyonyo
If you want faster speed, please consider Deco mesh and build an Ethernet back haul.
I could only provide a general range of speed for reference as real speed could be different in your Wi-Fi environment and Wi-Fi client link speed etc.
For 100Mbps bandwidth:
Main Router/ Main Deco: wired speed around 80%-90% of speed, Wi-Fi speed around 50%-70% is acceptable. (5Ghz Wi-Fi could be higher, 2.4Ghz could be slower)
Ethernet Connection: Extender Deco Wi-Fi speed around 40%-70% of ISP bandwidth is acceptable.
Wireless Connection: Dual-band RE/ Dual band Satellite Deco around 30%-60% of speed it receives (at extender unit location the speed receives from router) is accessible.
I think you may purchase them back home and test the real performance.

@Solla-topee So even in wired backhaul, there is no way we can get the maximum speed? My house is about 200 square meter (2200 sqr ft), the modem/router is on the second floor, in my room, when my internet connection was just 20 and then upgraded to 30Mbps, the whole house including the first floor could get 17-18Mbps and then 25-27Mbps without additional repeater/extender whatsoever
The problem appeared when it was upgraded to 40 Mbps, the first floor only get 10-15Mbps, no matter how many extender I set up, even on the second floor outside my room the speed is just about 27Mbps, I just managed to solve the problem on the first floor by adding another router through powerline adapter TL-PA4010P KIT not to the maximum speed though, just about 30-33 now on the 1st floor
My question is, why even an ethernet backhaul Deco will not give me the full maximum speed? My desktop PC which is wired connected to the modem/router shows full 40Mbps so does my cellphone (wireless) if I stand close enough to the modem, I thought a Deco mesh network would give me full speed wired or wirelessly as long as we are close enough to any node
