connection issue TL-WPA7617 kit
I have had a AV500 fitted and working for years with no problem but have purchased a TL-WPA7617 kit to upgrade so we can extend the wifi but it will not hold its connection like the AV500 at all, i get 4 lights for a few seconds then it drops connection for 10-15 seconds then connects for a few seconds and then disconnects, I have even purchased a second set to see if I had a faulty unit but they are exactly the same
trying to connect to a virgin media router
advice would be gratefully appreciated, i'm not tech savvy so be gentle (hence buying a plug n play unit)

Hello @MartinG88
Thank you for your post, here are some tips that may help with the concern, just give it a try:
1. Ensure your Powerline Kit are on the latest firmware:
Firmware for TL-WPA7617 : https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-wpa7617-kit/#Firmware
Firmware for TL-PA7017 : https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-pa7017p-kit/#Firmware
2. Check the House Led on powerline KIT, house led OFF mean kit lost pairing to each other, please refer to case2 in guide below for more suggestion, please check powerline rate and share a photo: What should I do if connection is not stable when the device is connected to TP-Link Powerline Adapter?
3. May I know do you use the old kit with new kit use only TL-WPA7617kit only, it is recommended to test new KIT only to help exclude the issue. You could refer to Part2-2 for more details: How can I select the powerline device?
When issue happens, is the Wi-Fi connected but no Internet, or Wi-Fi disconnects or reports error and recover by itself? Many thanks.

thank you for your reply I will try your advice if I am able to, I was using it on its own completely removing the old units
I was connecting to the wifi no problem with the laptop and Amazon fire stick no problem was just getting no internet with the two centre lights coming on for a few seconds then going off for a longer period of time so connecting to the internet for a few seconds then losing connection

Hi @MartinG88 Thank you for more case details! If the house led goes off on the powerline units, that could be caused by the interference or poor powerline environment, i attach a guide a above you may give that a try later.

Hello @MartinG88
Do you mean the House Led & Ethernet goes off, if so, PLC seems to enter power save mode, you could turn that off and see if that helps:
How to enable/disable power saving mode on powerline adapters?

@Solla-topee yes its those two lights, I tried working out the power saving mode with my phone app but couldn't access the settings shown on the link, it looked nothing like that, it was still dropping out when it was in use as it was also connected to a virgin media tevo box not when it was idle but i'll try again, if that doesnt work then they are being returned, i need something that will just plug and play without a fuss a bit like my original ones without having to download an app on a device to control them
